The Grove Inn is south of Miami in an agricultural paradise called Redlands, next to Homestead a Mexican village. But condos and shopping malls are inching closer. The Grove Inn, run by Paul and Craig, is a European-style guest house with old-fashioned charm and endless hospitality nestled amid farms growing palmettos, orchids, tropical fruits and some Asian fruits and vegetables (loquat, bitter melon, longan). Originally a house of assignation built like a bunker to withstand hurricanes, The Grove Inn has a lush tropical garden– orchids growing on mamey sapote trees, loquat trees, miracle fruit from Africa and a few Grecian sculptures.
